Feed the goat: Lucky and Luke need a home

An award-winning cheesemaker who featured on TV with The Hairy Bikers is urgently trying to find a new home for two young goats – after saving them from an uncertain future.

No kidding! Sophie Turner and Sarah Hampton with Lucky and Luke. The two goats are looking for a new home.

Lucky and Luke were delivered at Brockhall Farm Dairy, near Bridgnorth, a month ago.

Dairy owner Sarah Hampton is seeking to rehome the animals and will give them away to the right volunteer.

She said: "Lucky and Luke come from separate mothers and both had very difficult births. Although we don't have the space to keep them on my farm, I wanted to make sure they had good lives.

"They've been castrated and we've debudded their horns, so they'll make good family pets.

"The goats are Saanen Goats, which means they have a very calm and placid temperament. They are highly intelligent and they are free to a good home."

Mrs Hampton is one of Britain's best food makers and she has won numerous awards during the past two years. In 2012 and 2013, she was named one of the Top 50 Producers in the UK. She has also won a cluster of Great Taste Awards and British Cheese Awards.

She was interviewed by The Hairy Bikers when they filmed a food programme at the Ludlow Food Festival.

Mrs Hampton said: "Normally, male goats would face an uncertain future but I wanted to save these because their mothers went through such a lot. We have been nurturing them and giving them plenty of TLC during the past few weeks. Now they're healthy and growing fast and we're trying to find them homes. They are adorable and hopefully someone in Shropshire will want to keep them as pets."

Mrs Hampton is a regular at the Shrewsbury and Ludlow Food Festivals. Anyone able to offer a home to Lucky and Luke can call (01746) 862533 or email sarah@brockhallfarm.com
