About 50 people from organisations including Shropshire Unison, Shropshire and Telford Trades Union Council and Shropshire Fights Back were in The Square on Saturday for six hours to talk to passers-by.

Ade Andrew, from Shropshire Unison, said: "A lot of people can't believe what they are seeing and hearing in terms of the proposals for the cuts."

The public information event is due to be the first of several taking place across Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin during 2014 as union leaders attempt to raise concerns about the scale of planned local government cutbacks in both areas.
