Telford & Wrekin Council has submitted two major planning applications as it continues to work closely to help the Donnington site meet the requirements for the MoD's National Defence Gateway logistics operation.

If the two applications gain planning permission, it would make Telford the main centre for the MoD's logistics operation in the UK, protecting jobs at the site and attracting new jobs to the borough.

The applications include three major warehouses, car parking and offices. It includes a fulfilment centre which would be 675,000sq ft and up to 114ft high in part. On the same site, the planning application includes a further 200,000sq ft warehouse as well as a 30,000sq ft, three- storey office building.

The second planning application relates to a plot of land next to the Telford International Railfreight Park. This includes a 280,000sq ft warehouse and distribution facility on land to the east of Hortonwood 37 and along the western boundary of the existing MoD Donnington site.
