A fire crew were called to Seifton, on the B4368 from Craven Arms, when a Ford Fiesta caught fire at about 4.50pm on Sunday evening.

The crew used two hose reel jets and breathing apparatus to put out the blaze, a spokesman for Shropshire Fire and Rescue said.

The car was 90 per cent destroyed.

Richard Ewels, speaking for West Mercia Police said police assisted with traffic management.

He said: "We were notified just after five. Initially we thought it was a road traffic collision, but it was a red Ford Fiesta that had caught fire.

"There doesn't appear to be anything suspicious, it was a mechanical or electrical fault," he added.
