Morning mists across the Shropshire plain gave way to wall-to-wall sunshine showing off the changing colours of leaves and trees still heavy with fruit. The mist brought out photographers with their cameras – and now we want to see your images of autumn. After a day of rain today, the forecast for tomorrow looks even better with a return to unseasonably warm temperatures for mid-October. Shropshire Wildlife Trust said the next fortnight could see a spectacular autumn – as long as the county is not hit by sharp frosts.

Autumn is associated with fruits, berries and fungi and this year has seen varying success.

Fungi forays have been held across the county with walkers delighting in the mushrooms and toadstools such as the large, Fly Agric fungi found on Fenns Moss.

John Hughes, from Shropshire Wildlife Trust, said: "It is not as good an Autumn for fungi as it could have been as the summer was so dry and for the middle of October Fenns Moss is surprisingly dry at the moment."
