Officers at Shropshire Council have recommended approval for a Sainsbury's at the Vicon Work Industrial Estate.

But proposals by Danbank Developments for a Tesco on Greenfields Lane have been recommended for refusal.

Both sites will be considered by Shropshire Council's North Planning Committee at a meeting at Edinburgh House, Wem, at 2pm on Tuesday.

A report by Shropshire Council planning chiefs due to go before the committee next week said the Sainsbury's proposal "would not have a significant adverse impact on the vitality and viability" of the town centre and would deliver "positive impacts" such as links to the town centre.
