Alethea Taylor, from Orleton, has not been seen since January last year and her husband John was sentenced to life in prison earlier this month.

Councillor Sebastian Bowen, who represents Orleton on Herefordshire Council, said a date for a service could be set in early May.

"Even though Alethea's body has still not been found, we feel a funeral would provide a right and proper conclusion to allow friends and family to say goodbye properly to her. We would still urge John Taylor to tell the police where her body is in the meantime."

Funeral director Taylor will not be considered for parole for at least 17 years.

Police have vowed to continue the search for Alethea, 63, who was reported missing by Taylor from the family home they shared in Mortimer Drive last year.
