The venue hosted a production last night from Wild Rose – that left fans dazzled by its sheer brilliance.

Romance, tragedy, drama and magic were high on the agenda as Beauty Belle fell in love with the Beast and broke a spell on the cursed Prince.

The production was another feather in the cap of Theatre Severn, which is developing a regional reputation of excellence as a venue for dance.

Dramatic ice dancing at the fairytale show

The venue regularly hosts some of the UK's most cutting edge dance companies – and last night it showcased one of the best companies in Europe.

As temperatures plummeted on a chilly night, the theatre was transformed as a huge iced stage provided a platform for performers.

The Russian Ice Stars raised temperatures with a dazzling interpretation of one of the world's most enchanting love stories. It was a treat for all the family, with dramatic dances, an incredible stage set and passionate routines.

A feel-good feast for all the senses, Beauty and the Beast provided moments of jaw-dropping brilliance. High-speed dance routines, electrifying jumps and moves and breathtaking aerial feats were all thrown into the mix.

The show stayed reasonably true to Gabrielle-Suzanne Barbot de Villeneuve's 18th century fairy story and last night's Shrewsbury audience was delighted by it.
