Cyclist found dead on Shropshire roadside
A 51-year-old cyclist has been found dead at the roadside in south Shropshire.
Police said the man was found just after 9.30pm on Monday beside the B4367 on the approach to Bucknell, close to the Shropshire, Herefordshire and Powys border.
Officers believe the man may have fallen from his Ridgeback hybrid bike after suffering a ‘medical condition’ but are anxious to trace his movements prior to his death.
Richard Ewels, spokesman for West Mercia Police, said: “We are appealing for witnesses who may help us establish the circumstances leading up to his death. Anyone with information can contact Ludlow or Shrewsbury police stations by calling 101.
“He was a large man, about 18 to 20-stone, with long black greying hair and wearing a red walker’s jacket and blue jeans. A post mortem is being arranged to establish the cause of death.”
