Dozens of fans queued to meet Only Fools and Horses star John Challis at two book signings in Shropshire.
The actor, best known for his portrayal of Boycie in the BBC hit show and spin-off series The Green Green Grass, called into the Waterstone’s bookshops in Shrewsbury town centre and Telford Shopping Centre on Saturday to sign copies of his latest autobiography.
Mr Challis, who lives in Wigmore, near the south Shropshire border, is currently on a nationwide tour to promote his second book, Boycie and Beyond.
The new book, which is full of tales from his life on stage, is the second volume of the actor’s life story, following on from his first autobiography Being Boycie.
Mr Challis called into Telford at around 11am before travelling to Shrewsbury for his 2pm book signing event.
Tom Cotton, assistant manager at Waterstone’s Shrewsbury, said the bookshop had around 100 copies of the autobiography ready for the meet and greet event.
Speaking on Twitter after the events, Mr Challis said he was pleased with the turnout. “There was an uninterrupted line for 90 mins,” he tweeted.
