Shrewsbury homes hit by power surge

An elderly resident had to be evacuated after a sudden power surge left nearly 40 homes in Shrewsbury without power.

The power cut affected 38 homes in Adams Ridge, Bromfield Drive and Pemberton Way in Reabrook for about nine hours following a glitch with an underground cable at around 4pm yesterday.
