Some older Telford United fans might recognise younger versions of themselves in this shot of the crowd at a match at the Bucks Head. But as it’s December 11, 1982, they will be almost 30 years older now. It was an FA Cup second round tie against Tranmere, and the result was a 1-1 draw. Telford lost the replay at Tranmere 2-1.

Outside the Bridge Inn at Dorrington in 1959 or 1960, a small crowd seems to be waiting for something. We’re not sure what for, but they are possibly watching the passing hunt. This is one of a number of nostalgic pictures contained in an album kept at Dorrington surgery, and copied with the permission of Sarah Barker of the surgery.

You don’t get prizes like that nowadays.” And if you didn’t know, Gold Flake is a brand of cigarette.
