Mammoth makeover for Shropshire road sign
First there was the Essex Lion – now, it seems, there is the Shropshire Elephant to baffle county villagers.
People in Roden, near Shrewsbury, have been left bemused after a mysterious graffiti artist added a trunk and tusk to a cattle warning sign in the village.

One member of staff at the nearby Roden Nurseries, who did not wish to be named, said it had become a talking point in the village.
She said: “People have been talking about it. It is quite funny really.”
Mike Winter, from Shropshire Wildlife Trust, said elephants were a common sight in prehistoric Shropshire.
“Perhaps it is a relative of the mammoths which roamed Shropshire tens of thousands of years ago,” he joked.
A spokesman for Telford and Wrekin Council, said the graffiti would be dealt with. He said: “We have logged the call with our public realm team and it will be dealt with in due course.
“If residents have any concerns about graffiti they can report them by calling (01952) 384000.”

I'd be inclined to leave it as it is rather than waste public money cleaning it off. It's not as if it's unsightly or causing any issues; quite the reverse as it evidently makes people chuckle. Looks like it is on the point of fading off anyway
