Celebrity hairdressers Royston Blythe and Nick Malenko are to open a new salon in Shrewsbury – creating 16 jobs. The pair have a string of famous clients.
They include pop singer Katy Perry and model Abbey Clancy – and one of the company’s stylists is personal hairdresser to The Queen.
Royston Blythe already own a flagship salon in Wolverhampton as well as another in The Dorchester Hotel in Mayfair, London.
Now they will spend more than £150,000 on a new salon in St Mary’s Street, Shrewsbury which will replace the former Mad Jack’s Delicatessen.
The new venture is being billed as the town’s first celebrity salon.
Anna Mackew, Royston Blythe’s area manager said: “Shrewsbury is a favourite local town of owners Royston and Nick.
“They originate from the Midlands and so wanted to expand within the region.
“The people are glamorous and stylish, but down-to-earth; just like us and our existing clientele!
“The town is lacking a truly high-end and prestigious salon name and we are excited to become Shrewsbury’s first celebrity salon.”
Current employee Ashley Gamble will take over as managing director of the new salon – which will look to recruit up to 16 other staff.
A range of cut and colouring services will be on offer from staff with international experience working for television, the press, celebrities and the catwalk.
