Body is found at Telford property

The body of a woman in her 50s has been found at a house in Telford, police said today.

The death of the woman, who has not yet been named, is being treated by police as unexplained.

Police today said that they were called to a property in Trinity Road, Dawley, at about 5.30pm yesterday.

A spokeswoman for West Mercia Police said: “Police are investigating a death after a woman’s body was found at an address on Trinity Road in Dawley yesterday.”

She added: “Police and an ambulance were called following the discovery at around 5.30pm.

“The death of the woman, who is aged in her 50s, is being treated as unexplained.”

The spokeswoman added: “Investigations are continuing.”

Paul Crumpton, force duty inspector for West Mercia Police, added that a post mortem was likely to take place today to establish a cause of death.

But he said the death was not being treated as suspicious.
