A police investigation has been launched after a man was found with a ‘severe head injury’ at Shrewsbury railway station.
A police investigation has been launched after a man was found with a ‘severe head injury’ at Shrewsbury railway station.
The man was found at the bottom of steps leading from the Dana Footbridge at 5.40am yesterday. British Transport Police are now trying to establish what happened.
Detective Sergeant Shanie Erwin said: “The man was on a night out at the Buttermarket nightclub. Around 3am, the man left with his friend, who last saw him walking towards Castle Walk.
“He was next seen several hours later at the bottom of some steps at the Dana Footbridge by a member of the public who called an ambulance. The man was taken to the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital, where he currently remains in a stable condition.”
Police are exploring several lines of enquiry, including reviewing CCTV footage.
