A private funeral will be held for three children murdered by their father at a beauty spot in Shropshire.
The family of 35-year-old Ceri Fuller and his three children Sam, 12, Rebecca, eight, and Charlotte, seven, said arrangements were being put in place for a service for relatives and close friends only. But it has also been revealed a public memorial service will take place later this month.
The details of that service, which will be open to all, will be released later.
And members of the Fuller family have thanked people for donations and their show of support in the wake of the tragedy.
The bodies of the Gloucestershire family were found at a disused quarry at Poles Coppice on Pontesbury Hill, near Shrewsbury, on July 16.
Detectives recovered a knife from the scene and post mortem examinations confirmed that the three children died from stab wounds.
A Home Office pathologist also revealed that Mr Fuller died from multiple injuries consistent with falling from a height as the man is thought to have leapt 65ft to his death from a cliff at the disused quarry.
The details of the funeral arrangements were revealed in a statement by Johanna Ballard, speaking on behalf of the childrens’ mother Ruth Fuller and the rest of the family, via Gloucestershire Constabulary.
Ms Ballard said: “We will be holding a small family funeral service soon.
“We are extremely grateful for all the messages of support we have received, however we would kindly request that our privacy be respected at this difficult time, and will be keeping the service as strictly family and close friends only.
“We are also requesting family flowers only.”
The statement she read continued: “We will be arranging a memorial service in the coming weeks which will be open to anyone who wishes to attend, and we are extremely grateful for all the community’s donations towards this, and also towards the charity MIND, who have been particularly supportive over the past few weeks.
“Further details will be given nearer the time.
“Once again, we thank you for your kindness and understanding.”
