Its not a shropshire brooch, its only connection is a 70 year olds granddad made it in south Africa a long time ago, this is the 1st time the brooch has been in the county, its only "link" is the 70year old lives in Shrewsbury.

We had a lovely day at Cosford but the children were disappointed that we were unable to find them a spot to stand where they could catch a view of the Queen. Some had pitched their chairs in the best viewing positions at 9am and sat rooted to the spot for 4hrs in their determination to see her!

It was a great day, our children loved it and if 40,000 seems optimistic for attendance, the crowd lines were not so deep that we couldn't get a good view as she drove past.Not often one says this of the council, but the organisation was very good , the stewards were polite and did a good job, as did the announcer
