Two men and a woman have been arrested and are being questioned over the death of the man, named locally as father-of-three Richard Sherratt, 57.
The body was found in a first-floor flat in Old School Mews, off the High Street on Thursday. He has yet to be formally identified but is believed to be from the Stourbridge area.
A 30-year-old Telford woman was arrested on Thursday but released without charge.
Detective Chief Inspector Stephen Tonks said: “A post mortem into the man’s death was held last Friday. Results indicate that he died from head injuries.
“A man in his 50s from Tipton, Sandwell, a man in his 30s from Perry Barr, Birmingham and a woman in her 20s from Aston, Birmingham remain in police custody in connection with the 57-year-old’s death, and detectives have been given an extra 36 hours by magistrates to question them.”
