England fan has turned shed into his own mini pub

While many England fans battle for space in crowded pubs tonight, Jamie Pearce will be watching his team’s Euro 2012 clash against Sweden in the comfort of his own shed.

While many England fans battle for space in crowded pubs tonight, Jamie Pearce will be watching his team’s Euro 2012 clash against Sweden in the comfort of his own shed.

The super fan from Shawbury has transformed his humble garden shed into a mini pub – called ‘The Three Lions’.

Alongside nine other mates, Mr Pearce will be watching the game live on his shed’s two TV screens.

“Its just a bit of fun,” he said. “We watch all the games in the shed, it’s better than sitting in the front room with the kids.”

The 33-year-old built his impressive pub shed in 2010 ahead of England’s World Cup campaign in South Africa. He spent £3,000 fitting out the 12ft by 8ft shed with optics, a fruit machine and a dartboard – but remains unlicensed.

“My mates all bring their own cans along,” he said. The father-of-two has even entered his pub into a national shed of the year competition and is urging people to vote for his pride and joy.

In the meantime he remains hopeful about England’s chances in the Euro 2012 tournament.

Mr Pearce said: “I’m enjoying it. We played very well against France. I think we’ll get through the group stage but it might be tricky playing Spain or Italy.

“In the meantime what could be more patriotic than watching the game in these surroundings?”

I turned my garden shed into a pub too, however my plan ran aground when my local wouldn't let me keep my mower in their snug.

Again . . . .

Will you (Shropshire Star) run this story every time there is a major football tournament? I seem to recall seeing it last year?

towbar

YES is the answer.

twisting my melon

There wasn't a major football event last year..

This is not the same guy and not the same shed. Anyone out in wonder land got a tree house bar? love to see one of those, or a different take on the turning your shed in to a bar.

How is watching soccer in a shed patriotic? Eccentric maybe, certainly not patriotic.

And 10 guys in a garden shed, must be pretty cozy.
