Thirty jobs are to be created when a new laboratory testing the health of cattle from across the UK opens in Telford.
The Cattle Information Service, which tests milk and animal health, has spent more than £2 million buying and kitting out a new lab on Stafford Park 1. It will be one of two such facilities serving the whole of Great Britain when it opens later in the summer.
It will bring around 30 new jobs to the town in the short term, from highly specialised lab roles to administrative and logistical positions.
The centre’s range of services is set to expand as the facility develops, meaning further new positions could be created in the future.
There are plans to hold an official opening ceremony later in the year.
