The company was named Business of The Year 2012 at a glittering awards ceremony by our sister newspaper the Oswestry & Border Chronicle.
The event was held in conjunction with Oswestry Chamber of Commerce and hosted by Lion Quays Resort at Oswestry with 15 shortlisted companies attending the ceremony along with civic dignitaries.
Northern Industrial Battery Services Ltd is an accredited specialist standby power company offering a range of products and services to provide expert independent technical advice, products and services to meet various industrial standby power requirements.
“We are able to provide a complete “life cycle service” from the design, supply, predelivery testing, installation through to ongoing routine maintenance, inspections, testing, decommissioning and disposals,” said managing director Chris Gilliard.
“We also organise and host the NiBS Battery Conference, the leading standby power conference and exhibition event in the UK.”
Other specialist services include training courses, emergency call outs and loan equipment, product approvals and evaluations and battery failure teardown reports.
“Winning the award is a great boost for everyone here,” said Mr Gilliard. “We are a family company, employing 27 people and everyone is walking around with a smile on their face, knowing that we have been named the area’s top company.
“We operate in many different industries including Nuclear processing plants, power stations, petrochemical industries, hospitals, scientific installations and data centres. We cover the whole of the UK, Europe and also supply into the Middle East.”
The company operates out of a 4,000sq ft premises at Four Crosses and a 17,000 sq ft unit at Maesbury and is looking to expand the Four Crosses headquarters in the near future.
