Cannabis seized in Church Stretton home raid
Wednesday 15th February 2012, 10:59AM GMT.
Police seized 25 cannabis plants during a raid on a home in Church Stretton.
Officers carried out the search at an address in Cross Street on Monday.
A 36-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of producing cannabis, a class B drug. He has since been bailed pending further inquiries.
Police today said the plants were at an early stage of growth. A mature cannabis plant can produce four crops a year and is valued at £1,000.
Constable Damon Preston today said: “We obtained the warrant after receiving information from the public about activity at this particular address.
“It is an excellent example of how the police and local community can work together to make a safer environment for the future.
“We urge people to phone the 101 number if they have any information, or pass on details to Crimestoppers, anonymously, by calling 0800 555 111.”
