Campaigners from the newly-formed Llanymynech and Pant Bypass Action Group, which is calling for a new bypass, have set up a meeting next month with two MPs to discuss their traffic worries.

Group leaders say it is vital people turn out in force for the March 1 meeting, which will be attended by North Shropshire MP Owen Paterson and Montgomeryshire AM Russell George.

The area’s Shropshire Councillor Arthur Walpole will also attend while Shropshire Council leader Keith Barrow and Montgomeryshire MP Glyn Davies have been invited to attend the talks.

Mike Catt, from the group, said: “We know it is not going to happen overnight and it will take a good few years but we will not give up until it is done.

“Our public support is growing all the time and we want to see as many people as possible come to the March 1 meeting, which is being held at St Agatha’s Church Hall in Llanymynech.”

Mr Catt said the group will meet tonight at the Dolphin pub in Llanymynech from 7pm.
