Market Drayton teenager home after street attack

Monday 16th January 2012, 10:59AM GMT.

A teenager who suffered a fractured skull and bleeding on the brain after he was attacked in Market Drayton town centre has been discharged from hospital.

Tom Johnson, 18, was left badly injured after he apparently stepped in to try to stop a dispute in Cheshire Street in the early hours of January 8.

Now Tom, who works at Argos and attended the Grove School, has returned home after spending five days at the Princess Royal Hospital in Telford.

His mother Claire Johnson today said: “He came out on Friday. It’s one day at a time for him and he’s moving about but still has a lot of pain.”

Police said three suspects have so far been arrested on suspicion of assault. Two men aged 18 and 26 plus a 15-year-old youth have all been arrested and bailed.

Police have appealed for witnesses to call 101.
