Tuesday 10th January 2012, 10:59AM GMT.
Tributes were today paid to a 21-year-old Harper Adams student who died following a road smash in Somerset.
Avon and Somerset Police today said Thomas Haseley was involved in a collision in North Curry at about 7.35pm on Sunday.
After emergency services attended the scene of the smash, he was taken to Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton where he later died.
Friends of Mr Haseley have taken to social networking sites, including Facebook and Twitter, to pay tribute to the student.
Harper Adams’ student George Lane posted: “The past 24 hours I have witnessed and been informed of some life changing experiences. R.I.P Thomas Haseley #lifeisprecious.”
Ed Brown posted: “Emotional evening. R.I.P Thomas Haseley.”
And Daniel Morgan said: “Tom Haseley RIP mate! True lad!”
Suzie Izzard, spokeswoman for Devon and Somerset Fire Service, said 13 firefighters from three appliances attended the scene and cut a man from one of the cars.
She said: “There was a two-car collision and one person was trapped. We carried out a rapid extraction and made the vehicle safe.”
She added two ambulances were also called to the scene of the crash. A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Police said officers were now trying to trace anyone who may have seen the collision.
He added: “The driver of the Renault, a 21-year-old man, was taken to hospital where he later died.
“Police would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed this collision. They are asked to call the collision investigation unit on 101.”
