Shrewsbury MP earns £3,000 for eight hours work

Overseas visits, punditry and business dealings have all been declared by MPs in the House of Commons’ Register of Members’ Financial Interests.
The latest declarations cover the period up to December 2011.
Shrewsbury MP Daniel Kawczynski declared a £3,000 payment for eight hours’ consultancy work for mining company Tigris Financial – which works out at £375 an hour. In March he registered a £3,000 ticket to the Ormeley dinner in aid of the Aspinall Foundation, donated by Midstream Energy. Mr Kawczynski is registered as having made a payment of £2,000 for Chalgate, a public relations company. No clients were involved.
Glyn Davies, Conservative MP for Montgomeryshire, declared in January 2011 a £300 payment for reviewing newspapers on the BBC News Channel. He also declared rental income from farmland, two houses and buildings in Montgomeryshire and a two-bedroom flat in Cardiff.
Philip Dunne, Conservative MP for Ludlow, included business interests and an eight-day trip to the Falkland Islands, worth £2,800, last November, sponsored by the Falkland Islands Government.
North Shropshire Conservative MP Owen Paterson registered rental income from land in Cheshire and buildings in Shropshire.
He also registered two tickets, worth £800 for his wife and himself, for the Black and White Party in February.
Mark Pritchard, Conservative MP for the Wrekin, received £1,666 for 16.5 hours’ consultancy work with the Soufan Group, a strategic consultancy company based in London. He also declared £1,250 for 12.5 hours’ consultancy work for the Consumer Credit Association, based in Chester.
Telford Labour MP David Wright made no declarations of financial interests.
