Three appear in court over Shrewsbury murder

Three men have appeared in court charged with the murder of a 23-year-old man from Shropshire.
Jason Scott Cooke, of Sutton Farm, Shrewsbury, was fatally stabbed during an incident at the town’s Monkmoor recreation ground on Tuesday night and later died in hospital.
Peter Clinton, Damen John McDonough and Aaron Mark Doran, all aged 24, appeared at a special hearing of Telford Magistrates’ Court on Saturday each charged with the murder of Mr Cooke.
Clinton, of Caradoc View, Hanwood, near Shrewsbury, McDonough, of Darville, and Doran, of Cornmill Square, both Shrewsbury, were also jointly charged with aggravated burglary in Abbots Road in Monkmoor on the same day.
No pleas were entered during the brief hearing and there were no applications for bail. The three men were remanded in custody.
The case was adjourned for a hearing at Shrewsbury Crown Court on January 9.
