Star Danny bow-wows out after 10 years in Annie
Monday 2nd January 2012, 10:59AM GMT.
Terrier Danny is looking forward to spending a lot more time at his home in Shropshire after putting 10 years in a lead role behind him – as a star of the hit musical Annie.
Danny bowed out on Saturday night after playing the part of faithful pet Sandy in a touring production of the show which has seen him notch up almost 1,400 performances.
Soft-coated wheaten terrier Danny’s time on stage equates to about 70 dog years and has earned him the title of Most Performances By A Dog In A Theatrical Production.
His appearance at the Cambridge Corn Exchange on New Year’s Eve was his final one and he is now back at home in Oakengates, Telford.
Danny is now almost 11 but has been part of the show since he was seven months old.
