Bradford 3 Shrewsbury Town 1
Saturday 31st December 2011, 4:43PM GMT.
Shrewsbury Town ended on 2011 on a low point with their promotion hopes hit by defeat at Bradford.
All the damage was done in a 25 minute spell either side of half-time in which Graham Turner’s side conceded three times.
James Hanson broke the deadlock on 24 minutes before Nahki Wells doubled the Bantams advantage six minutes later.
Town’s hopes were ended four minutes after half time when a Craig Fagan effort from 16 yards squirmed under the body of Shrewsbury goalkeeper Chris Neal.
The visitors rallied late on – aided by the 72nd minute sending off of David Syers who received a straight red card for a dangerous challenge on Nicky Wroe – and pulled one back through substitute Marvin Morgan with 12 minutes remaining.
There were chances for Town to grab a second goal to set up a grandstand finish but they went begging and it was too little too late.

Oh dear. If only the team could play as well as the manager can talk.
A few days ago, we were assured that 7 points was achievable from the next 3 games.
I wish the team good luck in getting the remaining 6 points from the last game.
