Thieves strike during Rock service
Friday 23rd December 2011, 11:00AM GMT.
Thieves stole floodlights from outside a church while parishioners were taking part in a Christmas service inside.
The raiders struck at St Peter and St Paul’s Church in Rock, near Cleobury Mortimer, on Sunday evening, taking three temporary floodlights, the 7ft tall poles they were mounted on and the three extension leads used to power the lights.
The floodlights were donated by a local resident to light up the path to the church for the Christmas carol service.
Church leaders today said they were shocked by the theft.
Douglas Godwin, Wyre Forest district councillor for Rock, said he was so angered by the incident he is offering a £100 reward for anyone who provided information which helped to convict those responsible.
