Shrewsbury Town fans will drum up stadium support
Wednesday 21st December 2011, 10:59AM GMT.
A group of Shrewsbury Town Football Club supporters who had their drum confiscated at a match will be able to take it back into the ground following talks with club officials.
The drum was taken off the supporters in the Salop Leisure Stand of the Greenhous Meadow in the first half of the match against Macclesfield on Saturday.
But the supporters met with club safety officer Alan Roberts yesterday and both parties have now agreed the drum can be brought to the ground on a trial basis for three games, from January 2.
As part of the deal, the drum will be based in Block 19 of the ground.
Mr Roberts said he would meet the group again to review whether the drum could remain on a more permanent basis.

What a load of unnecessary sound. I’d keep musical instruments of all kinds out of football grounds. Pity the poor supporters who have to put up with the incessant noise for 90 minutes!
