A pizza company has created 15 jobs through a £250,000 investment in Telford.
Papa John’s has opened a store at the Odeon cinema complex in Forgegate and taken on delivery drivers, pizza makers and store assistants.
Papa John’s was founded in the US in 1984 and there are now over 150 stores in the UK, each working to founder John Schnatter’s ‘better ingredients, better pizza’ philosophy.
Chief executive Mr Schnatter said: “I’m delighted we have managed to secure premises in Telford.”
Mr Schnatter added: “Our unique sauce is made from the best Californian tomatoes, picked and packed from vine to can in just six hours, and I’m sure our customers will be able to taste the difference.”
Globally, Papa John’s has more than 3,500 stores in 29 countries.
Earlier this year, proposals were unveiled for another 10-screen Odeon as the centrepiece of a multi-million pound shopping development in Telford town centre.
Hark Group, owners of Telford Shopping Centre, released an artist’s impression of ‘Central Square’.
The planned 38,000 sq ft development would also include restaurants and shops.
Founded in 1930 by Oscar Deutsch, Odeon is the largest cinema chain in the UK with over one hundred cinemas.
