Paintball guns stolen by Market Drayton burglars
Wednesday 7th December 2011, 10:59AM GMT.
Thieves stole paintball equipment including two guns, ammunition and clothing worth about £2,500, in a raid on a Market Drayton home, police said today.
The specialised equipment, which also included markers and air tanks, was stolen from the garage of a home in Sherwood Crescent.
The burglary was reported on Monday, but is thought to have been carried out during the past week.
Richard Ewels, West Mercia Police spokesman, said: “This is unusual equipment of a specialised nature, so we are appealing for people to contact the police should they be offered such items for sale in suspicious circumstances.
“We are also concerned from a safety standpoint as a number of solid round balls were stolen with the two paintball guns, which could be highly dangerous if not used in a safe environment.”
Police are urging anyone with information about the theft to contact Market Drayton police station on the non-emergency 101 number or call the anonymous Crimestoppers number, 0800 555 111.
