Partner named for £27m Ludlow hospital build
Thursday 17th November 2011, 10:57AM GMT.
Health chiefs have named their preferred bidder to build Ludlow’s new £27 million hospital – paving the way for the major development to become reality.
Amber Infrastructure Ltd has been named as a partner on the project to build the new community hospital and two GP practices on land at Ludlow Eco Business Park. It is hoped the hospital will open by spring 2014.
The announcement was made by officials at Shropshire Community Health NHS Trust after three companies made bids for the contract.
And the news has been greeted with delight by Ludlow MP Philip Dunne and project leaders.
Jo Chambers, trust chief executive, said: “There has been an immense amount of work that has taken place so far to get us to this position, and I am pleased that Amber Infrastructure will be joining us as the preferred partner to help take the project on to the next level and to make a brand new hospital and GP practices for the people of Ludlow and south west Shropshire a reality.”
