Newtown bypass ‘value for money’

Newtown’s long awaited bypass has been described as ‘high value for money’ by Government officials, it has emerged.
The Welsh Assembly has released figures showing the benefit to cost ratio for planned trunk road improvement projects across Wales using UK Government criteria.
The figures – released as part of a freedom of information request – take into consideration the cost of road projects alongside the benefits of proposed roads, including factors such as journey time savings.
