AFC Telford boss hints at promotion goal
Thursday 17th November 2011, 5:00PM GMT.
AFC Telford United chairman Lee Carter today said the club was growing at a ‘remarkable rate’ after announcing record profits – and hinted that promotion to the Football League was a realistic goal in the future.
Mr Carter paid tribute to the hard work of everyone at the New Bucks Head as he revealed the club had stayed in the black for the seventh successive year.
The club has risen like a phoenix from the ashes after Telford United went into administration while in the Conference back in 2004.
The reformed AFC Telford, run by a supporters’ trust, has climbed slowly back up the non-league ladder, returning to the top flight of non-league football after winning promotion with a dramatic last-gasp winner in the play-off final in May.
Speaking ahead of the club’s annual general meeting tonight, Mr Carter said: “The success of this club has always been a reflection of the hard work, dedication and creativity that have been provided by a large number of people since 2004.”

He doesn’t mean this season!
League football has to be the ambition for the club – once we sort the league position out and survive in this tough league!

Time my dear friends. We have given time so far so please respect Lee and his comments. Well done Lee, a long way from Northwich Vic in the pub outside the ground many years ago

Stan Storton is a legend what price would Telford United give to have a 24 year old Dave Mather Alan Walker and Kevin Charlton in the team now! Probably the finest treble signing in non league history.
