Teen robbed at knifepoint near Telford subway
Friday 11th November 2011, 9:00PM GMT.
A teenager was punched, kicked and threatened with a knife before having his mobile phone stolen near a subway in Telford, police said.
The 17-year-old was thrown to the ground by two older teenagers who attacked him as he was walking with a 16-year-old friend along Holyhead Road, on the subway near Bennetts Bank, at around 7.50pm yesterday.
Police said the 16-year-old was also punched but managed to get away. Police spokeswoman Denise Wakefield said: “The 17-year-old was held to the ground.
“Offenders asked him for his personal possessions and stole his BlackBerry Curve mobile phone.”
The 17-year-old suffered cuts, bruises and swelling to his face.
Police are investigating the matter and have urged anyone with information to come forward.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Telford police on 0300 333 3000, or the anonymous Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111.
