Pictures from the past – November 4
Friday 4th November 2011, 9:00AM GMT.
Just over 100 years ago one H.F. Hardwick had a wonderful jaunt to Church Stretton in this motor during a visit to Chilton Grove, Atcham, where this photo was taken. We know that because of the message on the back of this postcard, which was franked at Malvern on June 10, 1910, and posted to Mr W. Godbold, of Grove Farm, Rendham, Saxmundham, Suffolk. “What do you think of this?” reads the message. “We had a lovely time at Chilton. They were all very fit & well there & Mr Cecil took me over in his car to Church Stretton to play golf. We go to Stableford again Tuesday. Yrs, H.F. Hardwick, Malvern.” Perhaps it is Mr Cecil standing by the car. Picture courtesy of Ray Farlow of Bridgnorth
