Boozy yobs face festive Oswestry pubs ban
Wednesday 2nd November 2011, 11:29AM GMT.
Drinkers causing trouble in Oswestry could be banned from the town’s pubs over Christmas. Landlords said they would take a tough stance against troublemakers.
They warned those misbehaving that they could be facing a festive shut-out.
Members of Oswestry’s Pubwatch group decided yesterday that anyone banned under the scheme from now onwards would not be allowed back in establishments until after Christmas. The move has been welcomed by police.
Pubwatch already bans individuals from all member premises in Oswestry if they are banned from one licens- ed premises in the scheme.
At yesterday’s Pubwatch meeting, chairman Frank Francis said: “If anyone kicks off before Christmas and gets a ban, then that ban will exclude them from everywhere.”
