Shrewsbury Netto to reopen as an Asda

Tuesday 1st November 2011, 11:29AM GMT.

A former Netto supermarket which shut its doors in Shrewsbury is to reopen as an Asda just around the corner from one of the company’s existing stores, bosses said today.

Asda, which bought the discount retailer in 2010, shut the premises in Abbey Foregate on September 28 and says it will reopen after a refurbishment. Asda already runs a supermarket in nearby Old Potts Way.

A spokesman said: “All colleagues employed at Netto will be offered the opportunity to work at a nearby Asda. We can guarantee that there will be jobs available.”
