Mid Wales police step up foot patrols for Halloween
Monday 31st October 2011, 11:29AM GMT.
Police in Mid Wales will step up foot patrols tonight in a bid to ensure Halloween celebrations don’t cause any problems.
Dyfed-Powys Police will be using ‘robust neighbourhood policing’ to stamp out any anti-social behaviour throughout the week.
Chief Inspector Mark Bleasdale said: “Instances of anti-social behaviour can increase at this time of year. We want to tackle these issues head on and do what we can to prevent them, through robust neighbourhood policing.”
Officers have been delivering No Callers Please posters and asking children not to call at homes that have them displayed.
School liaison officers are also providing lessons around responsible behaviour during Halloween and bonfire night in partnership with the fire service.
Mr Bleasdale added: “We want to encourage young people to think about their actions and what effect they may have on others around them.”
