BMW sports car stolen in Telford home burglary

Monday 31st October 2011, 2:40PM GMT.

Burglars stole thousands of pounds worth of gadgets and sped off in a high-powered sports car after breaking into a Telford home and stealing the keys.

The 5 series M sport BMW, computers, a television and CDs were among the items taken in the raid on an address in Fairburn Road, Randlay.

Police today said the break-in happened between 1am and 10.30am on Saturday after thieves crept in through a small downstairs window that had been left open.

Officers investigating the incident want to hear from anyone with information about the burglary who might be able to help with the investigation.

Telford police spokeswoman Denise Wakefield said: “Thieves stole an Xbox, a Nintendo Wii, a Samsung television, around 25 cds, a MP4 player, a JVC camcorder and a Compaq laptop computer.

“They also stole the keys to the car, which was parked on the front of the driveway.

“The car is a 5 series M sport BMW registration N99 WAN.

“Police are keen to speak to anyone who has information, in particular with information concerning the whereabouts of the car or the items stolen.”

Mrs Wakefield said the TV and consoles were taken without remote controls or leads. If you are offered items for sale without the remote controls and leads then contact us,” she added.

Anyone with information about the burglary is asked to contact Telford police on 0300 3333000, or the free and confidential Crimestoppers line, on 0800 555111.
