More than 1,000 sex offenders and dangerous criminals are living in Shropshire and West Mercia, it was revealed today.
A total of 792 registered sex offenders – known as category one – were living in the region on March 31 this year when a snapshot of the numbers was taken.
There were also 249 ‘category two’ violent offenders and ten other ‘dangerous offenders’ (category three) being tracked in the community.
The latest annual report has been issued for the West Mercia Multi Agency Public Protection Arrangements (Mappa).
