Knighthood for former Shropshire education advisor

Chris Woodhead, the former Shropshire education advisor who went on to become chief schools inspector, has been knighted by Prince Charles for his services to education.
He received his award at Buckingham Palace yesterday.
Sir Chris, who was head of the schools inspectorate for six years until 2000, came to Shropshire in 1969 as a teacher at the old Priory Boys School in Shrewsbury.
He returned to Shropshire in 1982 as an English advisor and was later appointed chief education advisor with the former Shropshire County Council.
Two years ago, Sir Chris disclosed he had motor neurone disease
