Girl, 14, sexually assaulted in Shrewsbury Quarry

A 14-year-old girl was sexually assaulted in Shrewsbury’s Quarry park, police said today.

Investigating officers have arrested and bailed a 19-year-old man in connection with the incident.

An appeal for witnesses has been issued.

The girl was not seriously injured in the incident, which took place early on Sunday evening.

Detective Sergeant John Weaver said today: “Quite a number of people were in the Quarry at the time and we are asking anyone who saw anything which might be connected, to contact Shrewsbury CID on 0300 333 3000.
