Burglary fears as clocks go back
Thursday 27th October 2011, 10:05AM BST.
Burglaries across Shropshire could double next week when the clocks go back as nights grow longer, police warned today.
West Mercia Police figures have revealed from October 30 to November 5 last year the number of house burglaries in the Shropshire police division area doubled from 10 to 20.
During the same period, the Telford division saw a similar hike of 40 per cent with house burglaries jumping from 13 to 19.
The rise in burglaries across the county during this time mirrors national research which shows that as the summer months disappear and the nights grow darker, thieves prowl the suburbs for longer.

Perhaps our glorious leaders should engage in soem joined up thinking, because at the moment the public sector resembles the pushmepullyou, only with hundreds of heads all pulling in different directions…
