John Clayton to lead Shropshire Chamber of Commerce
Wednesday 26th October 2011, 10:44AM BST.
Former Shropshire Chamber of Commerce president John Clayton is to resume his former role as an interim measure after the resignation of Anthony Randall.
Mr Randall left his presidency in his second term last week after a row with his senior vice- president Nick Chavasse, who had also quit over the powers of the leadership of the business support body.
That led the chamber board to hold an emergency meeting to discuss its future yesterday.
That meeting saw the resignations of Mr Chavasse and Mr Randall accepted – despite the former being asked to stay on as senior vice-president – and Mr Clayton appointed as interim president until the end of the current term at the beginning of 2014.
