Pizza delivery man robbed in Telford
Tuesday 25th October 2011, 8:00PM BST.
A man was robbed and threatened with a baseball bat by two masked men as he delivered pizzas in Telford in the early hours of today.
The 25-year-old man was making a delivery to Maple Close in Trench just after 12.45am when two robbers targeted him.
The two had their faces covered with scarves. One threatened the victim with what he thought was a baseball bat and the other forced him to hand over a money belt.
The delivery man also handed over his black Samsung mobile and three pizzas.
Chris Ammonds, spokesman for Telford police said: “Strangely the two men made off in completely different directions.
“In total around £100 cash was stolen as a result of this robbery in addition to the mobile phone and the pizzas. Although the victim – who is Asian – speaks little English, he has been able to give us a description of the two men that robbed him.”
The first man was white, just over 6ft and wearing a cream top and dark coloured bottoms, while the second man was white, about 5ft 7ins tall and dressed all in black.
Both men were wearing ‘sports’ clothing.
Call CID officers 0300 3333000 with any further details of this crime.
