Jason Maguire in race to partner Peddlers Cross
Monday 24th October 2011, 11:02AM BST.
Jason Maguire is in a race against time to partner the Shropshire-owned Peddlers Cross on his chasing debut at Bangor on November 9.
The leading jockey has been sidelined since suffering a fall at Cartmel at the end of August, which left him with a fractured bone in the back of his neck.
Maguire is eyeing a November comeback, but whether he will return in time to get the leg-up on the Champion Hurdle runner-up, owned by Shropshire businessman Tim Leslie, is uncertain.
“I’m hoping to be back in the middle of November, we’ll just see how it goes,” said Maguire.
